Rules, Branch and Display Logic

A Rule is broken into two segments:

The condition is defined as a single or group of statements combined with logical operators. The action is defined as the event that is triggered when one of the statements is delivered true during execution.

Rules and Logic work in a simple “If” and “Then” concept - If a certain condition is met, Then perform an action.
Note: You can create multiple rules within the same question.

You can include an action without any conditions too. Particularly useful when you want to take advantage of the normal flow of execution and want the survey to take an action on a specific question.

In order to add conditional branching to your survey question, follow the below steps: -

  • Step 1: Click on the question box on which you want to place conditional branching.
  • Step 2: Click on the icon having three parallel lines at the bottom right of the question box.
  • Step 3: Select “Rules, Branch and Display Logic”.
  • Step 4: Click on the expand button present beside the title “Rules, Branch and Display Logic”.
  • Step 5: Click on “Field” and select one of the options from the dropdown.
  • Step 6: Select a comparison operator from the second dropdown.
  • Step 7: Select or type the value in the next field.
  • Step 9: Select an actionable option from the dropdown under “Perform this action” and select the respective value, if any.
  • Step 10: To add an addition Rule, click on “Add rule” and follow the same steps from 5 to 8 above.

The auto save is always on and will activate after you make any change to the Survey configuration.
